小学生の頃、僕たちは未来を知る方法を持っていました。みんなが寝静まった真夜中、近くの公園に行き、小枝でハシゴを作ります。それを砂場の砂山に突き刺してから帰って寝るのです。運良くハシゴが倒れていなかったり、壊されていなければ、その夜の夢の中に小人がハシゴをつたってやってきて未来を教えてくれるのです。わたしは今そのハシゴ作りに夢中になっています。私の作品を体験してくれた人たちも夢で小人に出会えますように…
When I was a schoolboy, I had the way to know the future. I went to the park at midnight fearing in the dark and made a ladder of twigs. I put it in a sand hill and slept in my bed.
If a ladder did not fall down or was not damaged, I can see a dwarf, who comes down a ladder and tells me the future.
Now I enjoy making ladders. I pray that people who experience my work may meet a dwarfs in the dream.
